Springing into Action
It was a feeling unlike any she'd felt before: crushing, painful, and yet she felt more and more numb by the second.
She wasn't the strongest in the guild, she knew that and had learned to accept it. Although, that didn't mean she'd stop trying. She'd grow, working and sweating on her own to keep up with her friends that defined her knowledge of power.
However, even if she wasn't the strongest, her character was hard to beat. And one part of that character that she prided herself upon, was the fact that she was not a coward. Maybe she wouldn't recklessly charge into helpless situations like Natsu did, her partner, who somehow turned the most inopportune times to his favor, but she wasn't one to stand back and do nothing simply because it looked hard, or something scared her.
And so the day when she'd frozen in the face of fear, it'd felt like her world came crumbling down in a way.
She sat in her room, her back against her bed and her head buried in her kne

Prologue: Wrong Number
It was three o'clock in the morning when Natsu Dragneel's phone buzzed wildly on his bedside table. He groaned, his eyebrows pinching together in annoyance as he flopped an arm over his eyes. It was too early, too early to have someone calling him. Whoever it was would just have to wait until a decent hour if they wanted to talk to him.
The buzzing continued as his phone vibrated off of the table and clonked onto the floor with a crack, continuing to seize wildly on the carpet below. The salmon-haired boy groaned again, knowing that if he left his phone on the floor, he'd be sure to oversleep in the morning, as it doubled as his alarm clock.
He rolled over sloppily, keeping his head face-first into his pillow as he let his right arm fall off the side of the bed, patting around on the rug until he found the small device. He sighed, flipping the old phone open and holding it to his ear, without looking at the number or even opening his eyes.
He turned his he

Natsu frowned down at Sorcerer's Weekly, flipping the pages aimlessly as if he wasn't looking for anything in particular, or bothered by anything in particular, however he always ended up on the same page.
Lucy had lost a bet to Mira and had taken her place as the magazine's centerfold. Not only that, but it also featured a five page spread of her, posing half-naked in bathing suits and nightgowns. That, along with Lucy answering some very personal questions the reporters had asked. And as if that wasn't enough, at the end there was a small form that men who bought the magazine could fill out to win a date with Fairy Tail's one and only Lucy, Celestial Wizard extraordinaire.
When Lucy had told Natsu about her lost bet, he and Happy had guffawed endlessly. It was absolutely hilarious. Lucy would have to pose in the magazine she read so often, but had vowed she would never star in. Was she modest? Maybe. Natsu didn't know. But what he did know was that it was abs

A Packaged Deal
She wasn't sure of the day when suddenly she became part of a pair. She'd been alone most of her life, forced to entertain herself and make her own fun. She'd been without a mother for as long as she could remember and emotionally without a father for just as long. She'd set out on her own, and she'd decided she'd make a name for herself.
She was Lucy Heartfilia. Simple as that. She was Lucy Heartfilia, mage, Celestial wizard, Fairy Tail wizard, and friend and family member to all of the other wizards in her wonderful guild.
But somehow along the way her name had changed a bit. She was still Lucy, but nowadays her name always seemed to be tacked on to another's. Natsu and Lucy. People talked as if they were one entity. Natsu and Lucy did this, Natsu and Lucy did that, Natsu and Lucy blew up a building on their last mission, Natsu and Lucy should be back soon. Her name was always with his, as if they were the same person.
In all honesty, she wasn't upset by it. At
